Labor and parts on their own lines, tax on the part that is taxable, and a print button that hands you a PDF. Nothing to sign up for and nothing saved.

It starts as a real service call, so you are editing an invoice instead of facing an empty form. The sheet on the right is what prints.

Due on receipt. Thank you for your business.
No rounding drift.
How the total adds up.
Six steps, in order, with the judgment calls named.
- Each labor line, hours times your ratelabor subtotal
- Each part, quantity times priceparts subtotal
- The two added togethersubtotal
- Your tax rate on the taxable parttax
- Subtotal plus taxwhat they owe
- Every line totaled in whole centsa column that adds up
Choose the taxable group
The example applies one entered tax rate to parts. The switch applies it to both labor and parts. The tool does not decide what is taxable, calculate local rates or handle separate exemptions for individual lines.
Due on receipt
This is the example payment term, and you can edit it. Use the payment deadline agreed with your customer.
Labor and parts kept apart
Separating them is what makes the tax rule possible, and it is what a customer looks for. One line reading “repair” with a number beside it is the line that gets questioned.
What it can’t know. This builds a document, not a filing. It does not know your state’s tax rules or what your license requires you to print, so have whoever does your books look at the first one. Nothing here is saved, so keep your own copy.
Or skip the paper.
Text the invoice. Get paid by card.
Make the invoice from the job and share its payment link. Customers can pay online through your connected Square or Stripe account, with one provider connected at a time. Record cash and checks too. Direct card capture in the mobile app uses Square.

Questions about the invoice builder.
The ones a skeptical owner asks, answered straight.
Can I actually send this to a customer?
Yes. Press the print button and choose Save as PDF in your browser’s print window, then attach it to a text or an email. The page is stripped down to the sheet on the way out, so you get the invoice and nothing else.
Should I charge tax on labor?
The tool cannot determine that. Check the rules for the work and its location. It applies your entered rate either to parts alone or to both parts and labor; it does not calculate exemptions or different rates for individual lines.
Why does the invoice number matter?
A unique number helps match the invoice to payments and records. Use your own numbering system and avoid duplicate numbers. This free tool does not save or track numbers you have already used.
What are sensible payment terms for service work?
Use the terms agreed with your customer. This example starts with due on receipt, but you can replace it with a specific deadline or another arrangement appropriate to the job.
Is anything I type here saved?
No. It runs in your browser, there is no account and nothing is sent anywhere. That also means this is not your record, so keep the PDF.
